WhatsApp is continuing its Liquid Glass redesign on iOS, with the latest TestFlight build revealing work on updated message reactions and context menus. Here are the details.
Liquid Glass revamp continues in beta ahead of broader rollout
Last year, following the release of iOS 26, Meta rolled out a small-scale test of the Liquid Glass look applied to the official app’s bottom navigation bar and to some elements of its Chats tab interface.
To this day, this rollout still appears extremely limited, with most users still seeing the pre-Liquid Glass interface.
On TestFlight builds, however, Meta has continued experimenting with more Liquid Glass refinements.
Just in recent weeks, the WhatsApp build on TestFlight revealed that Meta was working to bring Liquid Glass to the in-chat interface, following an earlier beta that showed a similar overhaul for the app’s voice message player.
Now, WABetaInfo reports that Meta is preparing the same treatment for two more parts of the chat experience: message reactions and context menus.
As with other unreleased WhatsApp features spotted by WABetaInfo, the updated interface is not yet available to beta testers. However, the site was able to activate it ahead of release, as shown in the screenshot below:

Currently, the reaction tray features a more solid and opaque appearance. Although the context menu has already been refreshed with the Liquid Glass design in the chat list, the context menu for messages uses a simpler background style with limited transparency effects. As a result, these elements still appear visually inconsistent with other parts of the app that have already adopted the new design language.
As with other unreleased features spotted in WhatsApp’s TestFlight builds, there’s still no telling when these changes will make their way to the App Store version.
Still, the fact that new Liquid Glass references keep appearing in beta builds makes it clear that Meta is actively working on the redesign, and suggests that an official rollout may not be too far off.
